- It appears that the only difference is whether or not you use the
- login.cmd script.

- If the problem was modem rate throttling by a too-low unloading rate
- setting on the com port, that would affect anything tcpman.exe tried to
- do since it's stored in the trumpwsk.ini file, independent of the script.

- I suspect that the script might be initializing the modem with an
- initialization string that contains the symbol your brand of modem
- interprets as "connect at 2400" (in which case you're probably seeing
- much slower downloads compared to manual log-in).

- Alternatively, it could just be sending the symbol that tells the modem
- "show modem-to-modem connect rate" (the same in both cases - 2400) rather
- than "show modem-to-com port rate" (also the same in both cases -
- 115200). In this case, you should be seeing no difference in download
- speeds - purely a cosmetic difference.
